Heat Seal Cover Tape

Heat seal cover tape is a tape product used in an application in the field of electronic packaging, in conjunction with a carrier tape.

Heat seal cover tape is usually made of polyester or polypropylene film as the base layer, and laminated or coated with different functional layers (antistatic layer, adhesive layer, etc.), which can be sealed on the surface of the carrier tape under external force or heating, forming a closed space to protect the electronic components in the carrier tape pocket. Heat sealing cover tape is mainly used in electronic components placement industry. It is used with the carrier tape (carrier tape), the electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, transistors, diodes, etc. are stored in the pockets of the carrier tape, and the heat seal cover tape is sealed above the pockets formed by the carrier tape to form a closed packaging, which is used to protect the electronic components from pollution and damage in transit. When electronic components are mounted, the cover tape is stripped and the automatic mounting equipment takes out the components held in the pockets in order through the precise positioning of the index hole of the carrier tape and mounts them on the integrated circuit board (PCB board).
